Control Your Roll with Bike Fun’s Educational Bike Ride Series

Have you ever been on a bicycle ride and encountered a disastrous mechanical situation? On the Choose Your Own Disaster ride series, KJ Garner of Bike Fun offers a menu of disaster selections, tailored towards riders who want to be able to take charge of their situations with confidence.

Riders will randomly draw bike riding scenario cards and then solve them on the go. A previous ride participant calls it, “part class, part ride, and absolute confidence-boosting, educational fun.”

All rides will begin at the East Bank base of the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville. The next ride will be Saturday, October 12th, at 9am.

A participant writes: “If you want to boost your confidence and biking skills, if you want answers to questions you were always afraid to ask, Nashville Bike Fun instructor KJ is the real deal! I joined friends for a KJ-led experience where we learned how to prepare for and respond to pitfalls that might creep up on a ride. It was part class, part ride, and absolute confidence-boosting, educational fun.”

Rides are approximately 5 miles long and will last 2 1/2 hours. Groups are limited to 5 riders or fewer in order to permit detailed questions. Riders need to be 12 years of age or older. Registration is $65 and includes a beginner bicycle emergency kit. To register, visit nashvillebikefun.com/cyod.

Future Choose Your Own Disaster rides will focus on night time riding, cold weather riding, and inclement weather riding.

Taking charge of your bicycle is as easy as learning how to cope with disaster.
